Visiting a **restorative dentist at Yardley Dental Arts** can ease your fears and make you feel comfortable with our friendly, compassionate, and caring service. There are a number of options when it comes to restorative dentistry, including: - [Bridges](/dental-treatments-yardley/restorative-dentist-yardley/dental-bridges-yardley/) - [Crowns](/dental-treatments-yardley/restorative-dentist-yardley/dental-crowns-yardley/) - [Dentures](/dental-treatments-yardley/restorative-dentist-yardley/dentures-partials-yardley/) - [Implants](/dental-treatments-yardley/restorative-dentist-yardley/dental-implants-yardley/) ## What is a Bridge? A dental bridge is a way of replacing a tooth that is missing or has been knocked out. A **Yardley restorative dentist** will use this option when a tooth needs to be replaced but the patient doesn’t want to wear dentures or face a more complex surgery. A new tooth is made to fill the gap and will be held in place with a crown on the tooth either side. The material used can be either porcelain or ceramic and will match the teeth that surround it. ## What is a Crown? A crown is used to restore a damaged tooth and to restore a person’s smile. There are three different types: all-metal, all-ceramic, and ceramic-on-metal. It depends where the crown will be located as to the type of material chosen. The crown will cap a tooth that is damaged or be used to hold a bridge in place. ## What are Dentures? Dentures are a popular way to replace missing teeth and can be either temporary, partial, or complete dentures. There are a number of advantages and disadvantages to wearing dentures and our restorative dentist will be able to advise you of these during your appointment. To ensure there is a perfect fit, a mold will be taken of your gums and any other teeth. Several molds are required so that the dentist has a good idea of how your jaw moves and functions. Dentures are made using the impressions taken and any adjustments made when they are fitted. Dental implants are another option if you have a problem with missing teeth. However, installing them is a complex procedure. At our offices in Yardley we can offer this procedure and restore your missing teeth and improve your smile.
