Our **dentures dentist at Yardley Dental Arts** is able to provide the perfect solution for your needs. ## Different Types of Dentures Dentures are one option if you want to replace missing teeth. There are three main types. **Temporary Dentures** These are often used when a patient is undergoing a cosmetic dentistry procedure. They ensure that the patient is able to enjoy a natural looking smile while waiting for implants or a bridge to be created. Your **Yardley Dental Arts dentures dentist** will secure the dentures in place using a metal wire. This works in much the same way as a retainer. It can be taken out and put in whenever you want. **Partial Dentures** This is a good solution if just a few of your teeth are missing. A plastic base is what holds them in place and it will be the same color as your gums. To stop it from falling out a metal framework will be created. **Complete Denture** Technology has moved on in a big way and having a complete set of dentures is nowhere near the experience of the past. A **dentures dentist** will take all the necessary measurements, ensuring they fit comfortably and look as natural as they can. You will have to wait 12 weeks after your teeth have been removed, in order to let your bones and gums heal and shrink. This is to ensure the dentures fit securely. However, it is possible to get dentures fitted immediately, with adjustments made later on after your gums and bones have settled. ## The Benefits of Wearing Dentures - Non-invasive replacement method for missing teeth - Can be fitted immediately - Quick and easy solution - Versatile - Aesthetically pleasing - Support facial muscles and structures - Affordable ## How Dentures are Made During your first dental appointment, our Yardley dentures dentist will examine your gums and teeth. This is to determine whether dentures are the solution for you and what type is most appropriate. A mold will be taken of your teeth and gums in order to create a custom set of dentures. Several molds will be taken, because the dentist needs to see how your jaw moves and functions. The impressions taken will be used by the lab to ensure your dentures fit perfectly and look natural. If you want to know more about this procedure and whether it is right for you call [(215) 504-2400](tel:2155042400) today and schedule your appointment.
